Lime Body Butter Recipe

Lime essential oil is beneficial for healthy skin and adds a light, tropical scent.

Be aware that lime essential oil will make your skin more sensitive in the sun.

  • Cook Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 8 to 10 oz.

 

Lime Body Butter Ingredients :

  • 1/2 cup shea butter
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup sweet almond oil, light olive oil, or avocado oil
  • 10 to 20 drops lime essential oil

 

Preparation Instructions for Lime Body Butter Recipe :

Combine all ingredients, except the essential oils, in a double boiler or a small pot. Gently melt the ingredients while stirring over medium-low heat until the mixture has melted and become a clear liquid.

Remove from the heat and allow it to cool. Allow the mixture to partially set up and firm, it will start to look opaque as it cools.

Once the mixture is partially set (it will have the consistency of soft peanut butter) add the essential oils, and whip with a hand mixer or stand mixer until the body butter is fluffy and stiff peaks have formed, about 2 to 3 minutes.
